Menopause often brings uncomfortable symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, and sleep problems. Many women seek natural solutions to ease these changes. Recent Japanese research has shown that Pueraria Mirifica, a traditional Thai herb rich in phytoestrogens, may effectively reduce menopausal discomfort.
Objective
This clinical trial aimed to verify whether ingesting food containing Pueraria Mirifica could improve symptoms of menopausal discomfort in women.

Researchers conducted a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind study. Participants were asked to report their symptoms through questionnaires assessing various menopausal discomforts, including:
- Night sweating
- Difficulty sleeping
- Mood instability
- Discomfort of skin
- Urination problems
- Loss of interest in sex
Participants
Out of 89 applicants:
- 63 were excluded for not meeting criteria
- 26 were enrolled, with 1 withdrawing for personal reasons
- 25 women completed the study (13 in Test group, 12 in Placebo group)
Results
✔️ Significant Symptom Improvement
After 12 weeks of Pueraria Mirifica intake, women in the Test group reported:
- Less night sweating
- Improved sleep quality
- Reduced feelings of instability
✔️ Additional Benefits Observed
The study also noted improvements in skin discomfort, urinary symptoms, and sexual interest, suggesting broad benefits for menopausal well-being.
✔️ Safe for Use
No adverse effects were observed during the 12-week trial, confirming that Pueraria Mirifica is safe for relieving menopausal symptoms.
Conclusion
This study confirms that taking Pueraria Mirifica for 12 weeks can reduce various menopausal discomforts, including night sweats, sleep difficulties, skin discomfort, mood swings, and low sexual interest. It provides a natural, plant-based alternative to support women’s health during menopause safely and effectively.
