Rhinacanthus nasutus is a medicinal herb found throughout most of Southeast Asia commonly known as White crane flower. Rhinacanthus nasutus (L.) Kurz (thongphanchang in Thai) has been used in Thai traditional medicine for the treatment of skin diseases and eczema. Many local populations have used this herb as a treatment for various ailments ranging from snakebites to psoriasis and ringworm. This plant is said to exhibit the potent antifungal activity against dermatophytes. The root is considered to be aphrodisiac. An infusion (part not specified) has a reputation in folk medicine for the treatment of hypertension. In Thailand, anti-cancer activity has also been reported.
