Pluchea indica (L.) Less, locally known as Indian Marsh Fleabane or (“Khlu” in Thai) is one of the most well-known indigenous medicinal in the family of Asteraceae. It is the shrub plant that naturally grows in littoral areas of many Asian and Pacific islands countries. The plant is a source of phytochemicals and antioxidants which is said to protect and prevent cell damage from oxidative stress due to free radicals. The dried leaves from P. indica is developed to the herbal tea recommended to the consumers for potential preventing the diseases caused by oxidative stress. Anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti- anti-microbial, and insecticidal activities are also found in the plant. As a folk medicine, it exhibits the function of softening hardness and dissolving lump and as a type of food, it possesses the activity of warming the stomach.
